It's that time of year again, time to start planning our Holiday shopping!  Every year we hear all the buzz about Black Friday!  Several major retailers are will launch Black Friday ads about two weeks before November 23, 2012.  Here are tips to help you save both time and money this holiday season!

Black Friday tips:

Doorbusters are meant to generate buzz and entice shoppers in store...most retailers will ONLY have limited quantities and likely that only the first few shoppers will get them. Example. Last year Best Buy had 42" HDTV for $199 but each store only had 10 units.  Due to the limited quantities, there is no need to campout at places like Best Buy this year.  You will be able to find the same deals on-line or in the store later for the same price or less.

Shop Early or wait till after Christmas.  Although Black Friday deals offer the lowest prices of the year, toys, brand name HDTV's and winter apparel are actually cheaper right before Christmas and can get a even better price between December and February.

Return Policies:  Also keep in mind that stores tighten their return policies considerable during the holidays, making it harder to return items.  Before you buy anything this year, make sure you know the retailers policy.

Layaway:  Most retailers are offering FREE layaway from now until mid-December.  Layaway is a great way to get those top items early and encourages people to budget this holiday season.  Most major retailers are also offering price match guarantees with their layaway deals.  Consumers should feel confident that if they shop early they will still get the best deals.

Shop local: Many local stores (not chains or national retailers) will be offering their own Black Friday deals and sales.  Be sure to check Facebook, your local newpaper, and Little Rock Mommy for more deals.

On-Line Shopping and Cyber Monday tips:

For those who'd rather fully digest your Thanksgiving meal and not stand in line at midnight on the dawn of Black Friday you can actually shop a majority of the retailers on-line.  We have seen many retailers already offering deep discounts for many popular electronic items this year, so no need to wait for Cyber Monday.  Be sure to check out refurbished electronics from trusted on-line retailers like CowBoom (part of the Best Buy Family).  These items are greatly discounted but feature the same quality and warranties as new.  In addition, Most on-line retailers will also offer Free Shipping.
